Description

The KMS 104/104 plus microphones, as well as the KMS 105 microphones, have been developed for the most optimal transmission of human voice in the demanding conditions of live performances.
The KMS series has become the internationally recognized standard for high-end microphones.

Thanks to the high audio quality and smooth frequency response of these microphones, musicians can have optimal control over their operation, in all stage conditions.

The KMS series microphones are ideally suited for use with an in-ear monitoring system, especially thanks to their low self-noise level, as well as dealing with crosstalk.

The KMS 104 and KMS 104 plus microphones feature a condenser capsule with a cardioid directivity pattern that provides the best possible suppression of sounds coming from behind the microphone. For comparison, the KMS 105 model, which has a supercardioid characteristic, is particularly good at suppressing sounds coming from the full 180-degree reception sphere on the back of the device. Compared to the KMS 104 microphone, the KMS 104 plus has an increased bass frequency response. Thanks to close collaboration with professional musicians as well as extensive field testing, the KMS 104 plus has been optimized specifically for female vocals in rock and pop styles.

Thanks to the variety of models, the user can choose the version that best suits the specificity of the application.
Acoustic properties
The studio condenser capsules used in the construction of the KMS series microphones constitute the transmission basis for all the nuances related to the human voice. Compared to other handheld microphones, most of which have dynamic capsules, the KMS series has a particularly high acoustic purity, a wide frequency range and a very good transient quality.

The meticulously matched acoustic filters used in the KMS microphones and the transformerless impedance converters that cope with high sound pressure levels protect the devices against overloads caused, among others, by by strong, compact-explosive sounds.

Despite its excellent noise zar properties, the @0S6T9 slit and hissing sounds are reflected with natural accentuation, which is only possible with condenser microphones. Moreover, the mentioned acoustic filters have been designed in such a way as to maintain the unique directivity characteristics of these microphones even in the low frequency range. The filters provide the KMS 104/104 plus and KMS 105 microphones with high protection against feedback in use situations along with a stage sound system.

Due to the fact that vocal microphones usually operate in close proximity to the sound source, in order to provide the best possible bass response, the capsules in question use an electronic compensation effect for the proximity effect.

Additionally, the microphone has a permanent, built-in high-pass filter with a cut-off frequency of 120 Hz (-3 dB, measured in a free field). The dynamic range of the KMS series microphones is 132 dB, and the maximum sound pressure is 150 dB.

The self-noise level is only 18 dB (according to the frequency characteristic A) and allows you to use very strong sound at sources without worrying about additional noise. Even at great distances, the microphone operates with a high signal-to-noise ratio. Giving freedom of movement and expression of creativity - qualities so important for artists.

Thanks to the transformerless circuit, the microphone signal can be transmitted over long distances over the cable without any loss in sound quality.


Mechanical Properties:

Microphones designed for use on stage require a particularly rugged construction. KMS 104/104 plus and KMS 105 have bodies made of thick sheet metal, which provides additional protection against operational noise.

The microphone heads are made of hardened steel. They can be easily unscrewed when needed, e.g. to clean the internal acoustic filters.

Transportation:

The KMS 104/104 plus and KMS 105 microphones, together with the stage mounting bracket, are equipped with an attractive quilted bag that meets the requirements of solidity in conditions of the route.
