The long-awaited successor to the well-known and valued PMD661, the compact digital audio recorder MARANTZ Professional PMD661MKII introduces many innovative recording and security features.


The modern PMD661MKII, referring to its original PMD661, offers a sophisticated, fully professional set of features and settings. The ergonomically designed front panel with clear, multifunctional control buttons provides versatile functionality and simple one-handed operation.
With built-in capacitive stereo microphone, the recorder delivers lightning-fast audio capture and recording with the highest precision. The device is equipped with symmetrical MIC inputs, linear XLR and unbalanced RCA line output and 3.5 mm mini jack line-in.

Measuring just 165 x 93 x 36 mm (6.5" x 3.7" x 1.4"), the 128 x 64-pixel OLED (organic) display is ideal for anyone who values simplicity and convenience. PMD661MKII offers high quality recording with 24-bit/96 kHz processing. SDHC compatibility allows you to work with cards up to 32GB. In addition, the device has a built-in, extremely easy-to-use SD Card Check system. The large capacity goes hand in hand with the long up time of the device (up to 5 hours on four AA alkaline batteries), and the built-in USB port provides fast data transfer.

With the new Retake feature, existing recordings can be modified directly on your device, unwanted fragments deleted or re-recorded, all at the touch of a button.

MKII is additionally equipped with security features such as password protection and file encryption that will prevent unauthorized access to recordings. MP3 files can be encrypted to . MPS, and WAV recordings to . You. ZARboth MPS files and those with the WAS extension are protected with a 4-digit password, so that only the password holder can open and play them in the included PMD Marker Editor program.

Completely free SOFTWARE PMD Marker Editor gives you a wide range of possibilities to create and edit files from your computer or laptop using the so-called tags (markers). This provides great versatility in managing recordings and makes them easier to catalog
