YAMAHA QL5 digital mixer console

QL5, QL1

Reproduction of the sound of YAMAHA mixers consists in faithfully preserving the natural sound, as close as possible to the sound source. QL series consoles have specially selected, best circuits and internal components for the clearest and clearest sound possible. The basis for excellent sound is the use of the best internal processors, m.in. Portico 5033/5043, created in collaboration with Rupert Neve. Dan Dugan Sound Design provides great functional capabilities for optimal channel balance.

It all depends on the natural sound

In order to maximise the processing potential of the mixer signals, the sound engineer should at all times have a colourless, natural sound as the starting point for creating the mix. The YAMAHA on natural sound is played in the QL series consoles, allowing accurate reproduction of sounds that faithfully reflect natural sound.

Each element contributes to the effectiveness and clarity of the

By maintaining an accurate, natural sound, it is possible to unleash the fullness of creativity. In our compact QL consoles, as in the CL series, we focused on achieving a faithful and clear commitment to natural sound. Every little detail - from mechanical components to port and connector configuration, power supply, grounding to other components - has been thoroughly analyzed and designed to deliver excellent audio quality. All noise and interference has been effectively eliminated. The system has great optimization capabilities, thanks to the AD/DA converter and inverted FPGA system. Any nuances of the mixer design affect its effectiveness and accurate sound reproduction. Our QL mixers will meet the requirements of any sound engineer.

Legendary performance YAMAHA

QL consoles have the best signal processing processors with legendary YAMAHA. Digital technologies YAMAHA accurately reproduce the legendary performance of analog devices. The combination of respect for tradition and modernity is a typical feature of YAMAHA. Digital mixers YAMAHA revolutionize the music industry, delivering the best performance and the most natural, clear sound possible. Modern mixing consoles YAMAHA provide excellent signal processing capabilities and outstanding functionality and performance required by sound engineers.

VCM technology and collaboration with Rupert Neve

All signal processing capabilities of the CL series consoles have also been provided with QL mixers. Most processors are based on YAMAHA technology - Virtual Circuit Modeling (VCM) - virtual circuit modeling - patented by "Dr. K" (Toshifumi Kunimoto) and his team in the state-of-the-art YAMAHA technology facility - laboratory "K". VCM technology models virtual circuits and the performance of analog audio devices in an extremely precise way, guaranteeing reliable characteristics of all individual components of these devices, including resistors and capacitors. VCM simulations are realistic enough that they are also supported by the legend of analog sound - Rupert Nave. His team collaborated on the development of equalizer and analog compressor modeling devices - Portico 5033 and 5043 - of course also available in QL series consoles.

Dan Dugan's revolutionary system

The long- YAMAHA collaboration with Dan Dugan Sound Design has greatly influenced the development of audio devices in this field. The QL series consoles feature advanced algorithms patented by Dan Dugan Sound Design. With Dan Dugan's system, setup is easy: place the processor in one of 16 channels to automatically optimize microphone gain compensation. Controlling this parameter is extremely intuitive and natural - it does not require a lot of experience. The system also effectively reduces couplings and filter problems. Thanks to this, the mixer operator can focus on other functions (instead of operating the gain silencer) during speeches and smaller events.

Improved mixer control

The decisive factor influencing the operation of the mix is the ability to react quickly and the ability to control several functions simultaneously. QL series consoles feature large touch screens and touch and turn knobs for smooth, fast, and uninterrupted operation. In our new mixers, we have also highlighted the comfort and sensitivity of silencer operation and the visibility of functions on the displays. The ability to remotely control and configure offline, using an iPad or computer, gives you even more room to operate on modern audio systems.

More intuitive interface

Any audio engineer switching from analog console to digital will appreciate the intuitiveness of the QL mixer interface. Thanks to many years of experience, accumulated over the years of knowledge and feedback of users from all over the world, we have adapted the control interface in such a way as to ensure smoother and more natural work in a wide range of applications.

Simple operation of the mixer according to the "Touch and Turn" principle (tap and twist)

Operating the "Touch and Turn" mixer on cl series models was enthusiastically received by sound engineers around the world. QL consoles offer an equally simple and intuitive way to operate functions: select the parameter on the screen you want to edit, and then use the "Touch and Turn" knob to adjust its value (the knob is located in the lower right screen). The color displayed under the knob varies depending on the parameter selected - this prevents the function from being lost and guarantees even more intuitive and simpler operation.

Selected Channel System YAMAHA Interface

The YAMAHA Selected Channel provides a useful overview of the multiple controllers and features available for the currently selected channel. QL consoles have large touch screens of the same type as cl series mixers. They guarantee excellent visibility and trouble-free operation. Physical controllers, as well as the innovative Touch and Turn knob system, offer even better interface clarity and natural control.

Advanced features backed by great design

Even the best and most advanced functions and capabilities of the mixer will not matter much if the operating system of the device is too complicated. The design of the QL series, including silencers, knobs, materials used and the shape of the device, is designed to be able to operate mixers in the most intuitive way possible. Colour function markings and a display with excellent visibility have been added to the new mixers. The interface is an important factor connecting the console system and the engineer, so we treated this element with special attention.

Improved silencer and display design

When designing our mixers, we pay special attention to a comfortable and intuitive design. The curvature of elegant silencers comfortably adapts to your fingers from any angle. Faders have non-slip inserts, known from the CL series, guaranteeing perfect friction during smooth shifts, ensuring no sudden jumps of the controllers. Transparency of the system is also important, so the edges are profiled in such a way as to ensure excellent visibility of the entire silencer interface from every angle.

Selected Channel parameters for direct, instant access

The main selected channel parameters are assigned to the knobs located on the right side of the display. They provide direct, instant access to specific features. User Defined Keys have the ability to assign them any function - this is another traditional feature of digital mixing consoles YAMAHA. QL consoles have additional User Defined Knobs that offer the same versatility of assigning parameters as their button counterparts. The combination of both these functions of buttons and user knobs greatly increases the speed and efficiency of work.

Comprehensive section of bank silencers

All analog inputs are assigned to one bank silencer, while the remaining input and output channels can be accessed by switching banks. QL consoles offer four user bank silencers, allowing you to set any required channel configuration for different applications. User crowd configurations can be saved as "scenes" and referenced in the future.

Highly visible channel names and color marking

Above each channel silencer there is a miniature display showing the channel name and silencer setting. Thanks to the color marking of the function, with eight colors, it is very easy to assign individual functions of channels and quickly identify them on the display. QL consoles have a total of nine colors of markings - 8 primary + black color. All displays in QL mixers are highly visible in all conditions.

Excellent mixers for a wide range of applications

The QL Series has a wide networking capability, thanks to dante's built-in network system, and features a versatile I/O configuration, just like cl consoles. Mixers are equipped with the innovative "Port to Port" function, which guarantees the connection of any input port to any output port. This allows QL consoles to function as remote I/O devices with any other QL or CL mixer. Expanded features, including 2-track/multi-track recording as well as dual MY expansion slots, make the QL series mixers a great choice for a wide range of applications.

Versatile networking capabilities

Today's standard in digital mixers is extensive networking capabilities. Each QL series offers this capability with dante's built-in digital audio system. The Dante system has been patented by Audinate, and nowadays it is the standard among mixing consoles. With the integrated Dante system, QL consoles are fully compatible with other Dante-equipped devices, such as CL-series consoles or R-series I/O devices.

One console, multiple possibilities

Each QL series console offers versatile I/O capabilities and multiple capabilities without the need for external devices. The QL mixer has 32 inputs and 16 outputs, while the QL1 has 16 inputs and 8 outputs. With great capabilities and portability, QL consoles are perfect for any configuration.

Built-in Dante network system

Precise data and settings synchronization technology ensures low latency and the highest sampling accuracy on the network. The assigned ID address for each device on the Dante network allows you to automatically detect devices and pair them easily and quickly. This makes setting up your devices on your network even faster and easier.

Reliability and reliability

Wires and switches may stop working properly over time. The Dante system is a guarantee of reliability and reliability. The configuration of the starry network of audio devices allows you to maintain uninterrupted operation and smooth flow of signals. Even after , you can seamlessly restore the entire system.

The "Port to Port" connector extends the capabilities of the

"Port to Port" is a new feature that YAMAHA the ability to configure QL console inputs and outputs on large systems. Gain Compensation is another feature that extends the system's capabilities.

QL consoles allow you to use fewer devices

With the ability to connect inputs and outputs directly without having to pass signals through mix channels, QL consoles provide even greater flexibility and versatility for analog, Dante and M inputs and outputs. It is also possible to mix analog signals received by the mixer, while simultaneously directly transmitting signals for multi-lane recording in the Dante system - this is just one example of the use of the device. The capabilities of QL mixing consoles are huge.

Share an input/output device with gain compensation

When dividing inputs between multiple consoles on a Dante network and using the Port to Port capability, adjusting the gain from one console can affect the balance of another's mix. Gain Compensation prevents such problems from occuring. Signal amplification compensation is applied automatically at the digital signal processing stage, so the total amplification value sent over the network remains the same.

Everything you need for creative work

QL mixers have the option of "virtual racks", allowing the operator to selectively select the processors used - this is similar to the actual work with devices, mounted in physical racks. The QL series guarantees the same processors found in CL consoles. These are the best virtual sound-shaping tools that allow engineers to unleash their creativity and capabilities.
