Compact, portable Digital Snake system

The S-1608 and S-0816 Digital Snake are compact versions of the popular S-4000 Digital Snake systems. Easy to use and quick to install, the S-1608/0816 Digital Snake system is a small-format solution wherever you need to replace an analog "cassette" with a digital device that offers the highest sound quality available in portable multi-channel systems. The S-1608/0816 Digital Snake system is ideal for teams, corporate A / V events, seminars, rental and stage companies, churches, TV and radio broadcasting systems that need to get the best possible sound quality without losing high bands and without a plethora of analog solutions

High quality mic preamps
Unlike analog multicore "Q" CDs, the RSS Digital Snake systems feature high-quality, remotely controlled mic preamps. The RSS Digital Snake system preamplifiers are specially designed for live applications, using high-quality components carefully selected by ROLAND engineers.

REAC technology
REAC ( ROLAND Ethernet Audio Communication) is an industrially proven, low latency, high quality 24bit / 96kHz audio transfer protocol used by the S-1608 and S-0816. The REAC protocol allows the Digital Snake signal to be split into multiple locations, such as for monitors, TV / radio broadcasts, recording applications - all using the S-4000-SP splitter or any standard gigabit Ethernet switch.

High sound resolution
Having high-quality mic preamps on stage, the sound is amplified and converted at the closest point to the sound source, ensuring the best possible quality. By using Cat5e cable instead of large multi-core cables, the S-1608/0816 digital snake system is immune to the "hum and hum" generated by electrical appliances and grounding problems.

Various stage configurations
Use multiple S-1608/0816 Digital Snake systems to create multiple stage configurations such as Left, Right and Center stage. Then just connect Cat5e cables to FOH units for easy connection management.

The perfect expansion of the number of channels for the S-4000 Digital Snake System
The S-1608/0816 Digital Snake System can be used to easily expand the number of channels of S-4000 systems from 32x8 to 48x16 or more. Mix the S-4000 and S-1608/0816 Digital Snake systems to accommodate rented and installed systems.
Remote - controlled

The S-4000R or S-4000RCS provide easy remote control of all input gain, phantom power and PAD settings.
REAC technology makes recording easy

As REAC is based on Ethernet technology, individual audio inputs derived from the S-1608/0816 digital snake system can be recorded via the Gigabit Ethernet card in the PC. The DAW recording program that takes full advantage of this technology is Cakewalk SONAR PRODUCER REAC.
